Getting Started

Install, register, log in and find your way around ZN ERP.

Start here

Getting Started walks a new ZN ERP user from a blank Windows machine to a working installation with a logged-in user looking at the dashboard. The five pages below are designed to be read in order — each assumes the previous one is done — but you can dip back in any time if you forget a detail.

This section deliberately stays at the "happy path" level. For deeper how-tos (running a GST report, adding an employee, etc.) head to How-To Guides. For per-module reference, see Modules.

What you'll learn

  • What ZN ERP is, what it covers, and where it stops.
  • The exact hardware, OS, SQL Server and network needed to run it well.
  • How to install with XnInstaller and configure the datacenter.
  • How to register a permanent Xn-Talk-ID for your installation, and how to log in for the first time.
  • The four pieces of the main UI — Home, Start Menu, Dashboard and Xn-Talk — and the keyboard shortcuts that make daily use fast.
  1. What is Xn Enterprise Suite? — orientation, 2 minutes.
  2. System Requirements — check before you install.
  3. Installation & Setup — run XnInstaller, set up the datacenter.
  4. First Login & Registration — create your Xn-Talk-ID and sign in.
  5. Navigating the Interface — find your way around.

How long will it take?

  • Single-user, single machine: about an hour end-to-end — most of it waiting for the installer.
  • Multi-user, one server + 2 to 5 counters: half a day, including LAN / firewall checks at each counter.
  • Multi-branch over WAN / VPN: plan a full day with a network engineer on standby.
Tip — If you only have an hour and you just want to see ZN ERP work, install LocalDB mode on a laptop, register, log in, and skim Navigating the Interface. You can roll out to real counters later without losing the data.

What is not covered here

  • Detailed module reference — that lives under Modules.
  • Task-oriented recipes (e.g. "how to take a backup") — see How-To Guides.
  • Menu shortcut numbers and the A–Z menu index — see Reference.
  • Troubleshooting installation failures — see Troubleshooting.
